Homage to Aussie Fashion: Rosemount Australian Fashion Week so far

My Twitter feed has recently been inundated with amazing tweets and posts of some of my favourite bloggers' coverage of the 2011 Rosemount Australian Fashion Week in my hometown of Sydney, Australia. RAFW is Australia's leading platform for top Australian designers to showcase their collections to buyers and media world wide.

This year, bloggers were given the amazing opportunity to be part of RAFW often being spotted in front row seats! From what I've seen so far, there have been some breathtaking collections from the likes of top Aussie labels such as Zimmerman, Rachel Gilbert, Kirrily Johnston as well as vetran, Alex Perry (who designed and made my very own wedding dress) and newcomer, Amber & Thomas. Australian designers are clearly paving their way into the forefront of the world's fashion scene. Living in UK, I can see how current a lot of the collections are in terms of their designs, colours and textures are really moving forward and keeping on par with European statements and trends. Lots of pastels, metallics, colour blocking, floaty fabrics as well as just the right amount of bling in the embelishments.

With the majority of my readers hailing from UK, Europe and the USA, this blog is to share the pride I have in Australian fashion right now. If you love fashion please click on the designer's names for links to their sites for more images of their ranges. Here are a few images from RAFW below.
